1. Nicola's Cardboard Box Haiti Challenge - achieved 600% of target
Nicolla Gledhill took it upon herself to raise money to support Save the Children's efforts for earthquake ravaged Haiti in early 2010. Her concept was both zany and catchy: if she raised $1,000, she would wear a cardboard box for a day. And yes, she did wear the box!
Using a combination of an online donation page, a Facebook Page and good old fashioned 'can shaking' - Nicola exceeded her $1,000 target in just three days, and raised a total of $6,210.

2. Oxfam's Trailwalker Challenge - raised over $1.1 million in one campaign
In 2009, Oxfam 's Trailwalker Challenge raised an incredible $1,146,033 towards Oxfam's vital work in alleviating poverty and demanding justice for the world's poorest communities. How?
